Young Artists Bring Russian Folk Tales to Life in Nizhny Novgorod Contest
A citywide art competition for young artists, Izo-Grad, took place in Nizhny Novgorod, attracting over 100 participants from grades 1 to 11. The event, held at the Sormovo District Children’s Creativity Center, challenged students to create illustrations for Russian folk tales within a strict time limit. Winners received diplomas, gifts, and recognition for their creative work.
Before starting their illustrations, participants watched video presentations about Russian folk tales and answered quiz questions on characters and storylines. The theme focused on the cultural values of the Russian people, with each tale highlighting the triumph of good over evil.
The event provided young artists with a platform to showcase their skills while engaging with traditional Russian stories. Organisers and sponsors recognised the participants’ efforts, reinforcing the competition’s role in promoting cultural heritage through creativity.
