Yekaterinburg Welcomes 2026 with Fire Horse-Themed Family Festivities
Yekaterinburg is gearing up for a festive start to 2026 with a range of family-friendly events. From interactive parks to classic theatre performances, the city will offer entertainment for all ages. Many of the celebrations will centre around the Fire Horse theme, marking the upcoming Year of the Horse.
Santa’s Factory, a large interactive multimedia park, will open at Yekaterinburg-EXPO from January 2 to 8. Visitors can explore 12 themed zones, including an enchanted forest with the Northern Lights and a control centre featuring an animated map of Russia. Free shuttle buses will run from Botanicheskaya metro station throughout the event.
Fairy Tale Park in Aramil will also join the celebrations with activities running until January 18. Younger children can enjoy 'It’s Just Child’s Snow Play' and the fairy-tale show 'Snowdvig'. Older visitors will have the chance to experience 'New I-Go-Year!' and 'New Year’s HORSEtel', both tied to the Fire Horse theme.
Theatre lovers will have plenty of options. The Yekaterinburg Puppet Theater will present The Forgotten Dream, a performance with magic tricks and holiday characters, from January 2 to 8. Meanwhile, the Yekaterinburg Youth Theater will stage Aladdin’s Magic Lamp during the same dates. The Nutcracker Theater will also host performances, including Lily the Little Mouse and the Great Snow Mystery and The Nutcracker, from January 2 to 10.
The events will provide a mix of interactive experiences and traditional holiday entertainment. Families can visit Santa’s Factory, enjoy theatre shows, or take part in themed activities at Fairy Tale Park. Most attractions will run for at least a week, giving visitors multiple chances to join the festivities.
