World Meditation Day today
Bangladesh is marking World Meditation Day today, Sunday, with events across the country. The day aims to highlight the benefits of meditation for mental and physical health. A special session will take place at the National Press Club in Dhaka from 7:00am to 8:00am, organised by the Art of Living Foundation.
The United Nations declared World Meditation Day last year to promote daily meditation practice. Its goal is to remind people of their right to well-being and encourage inner peace. The World Health Organization also supports meditation as an effective way to manage stress.
The Art of Living Foundation, the group behind the global event, has worked in Bangladesh for over three decades through its local branch, Quantum Foundation. Thousands of people in the country already practice meditation regularly and take part in social and humanitarian work.
Alongside Dhaka, simultaneous sessions will be held in key cities like Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna, and Sylhet. These gatherings aim to spread awareness of meditation’s role in personal growth and community harmony.
World Meditation Day brings together practitioners across Bangladesh for collective sessions. The UN’s endorsement reinforces meditation as a tool for sustainable peace and self-improvement. Events today will offer people a chance to experience its benefits firsthand.
