Wiesbaden students lead the charge in hands-on environmental education
A new partnership in Wiesbaden is calling on students to volunteer in environmental education. Three local institutions have joined forces to teach the public about nature, sustainability, and practical skills. They are now looking for young people to help lead programs and inspire others to care for the environment.
The network includes the Fasanerie Animal and Plant Park, the Ober-Olm Forest and Nature Conservation Center, and the Wiesbaden Environmental Agency. Together, they aim to strengthen long-term environmental education while giving students hands-on experience.
Volunteers will guide groups through forests and parks, explain ecological connections, and support public events. Before starting, they must complete a foundational training seminar to prepare for their roles.
Students from natural sciences, education, geography, environmental studies, and forestry have already been contributing since 2023. The initiative hopes to empower people to protect nature and make more thoughtful environmental choices.
Those interested can send their CV directly to the Ober-Olm Forest and Nature Conservation Center or the Fasanerie Animal and Plant Park. Volunteers will not only gain practical experience but also help shape educational programs with fresh ideas.
The project connects young people with environmental conservation while expanding public knowledge of sustainability. By involving students in teaching and outreach, the network plans to build a lasting impact on local conservation efforts. Applications are now open for those eager to contribute.
