Warrior Moms Host 5K Fundraiser for Spark in the Dark Foundation
Cathy Semeria, a mom who lost her daughter Christina in a tragic car crash in 2016, has found solace and purpose in supporting other grieving moms. Alongside other moms, she formed Warrior Moms and launched the Spark in the Dark Foundation in Christina's memory. This Sunday, Oct. 5, they're hosting a 5K fundraiser at the UGA Golf Course.
Cathy and her family started the Spark in the Dark Foundation to provide scholarships and send young people to youth camps and mission trips. The foundation's upcoming 5K run offers both in-person and virtual participation options.
Cathy, driven by her faith, wants the world to know that grieving parents need ongoing reassurance that their children are not forgotten. She and fourteen other Warrior Moms have written a book, 'Grieve Like a Mother - Survive Like a Warrior', to share their experiences and coping strategies. Cathy believes grief is a journey that changes over time, bringing both deeper joy and sorrow.
The Warrior Moms support network, founded by Cathy Semeria, continues to grow and help grieving moms. Their book, 'Grieve Like a Mother - Survive Like a Warrior', is a testament to their resilience and a beacon of hope for others. This Sunday's 5K fundraiser is an opportunity to support their cause and remember Christina, along with the other lives lost in the 2016 UGA car crash.
