Marburg-Biedenkopf District Offers Voluntary Social Year at Adult Education Center – Applications for FSJ in "Education and Culture" Open Until April 30
Voluntary Social Year in Culture and Education Now Open for Applications
Marburg-Biedenkopf – This year, young people once again have the opportunity to complete a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) at Marburg-Biedenkopf Adult Education Center (vhs). Applicants should be between 18 and 27 years old, with submissions accepted until Thursday, April 30.
The vhs is seeking candidates who will finish school this summer and are eager to gain hands-on experience in education. Ideal applicants enjoy organizing, take initiative, and are open to new challenges. A Class B driver's license would be an advantage, given the center's work in rural areas.
Each year, Marburg-Biedenkopf Adult Education Center offers over 1,000 courses across the district for adults, children, teens, and seniors. The program covers a wide range of everyday topics, personal development, and career skills, including courses, workshops, lectures, educational leave programs, language meetups, and diverse online offerings.
During their FSJ, participants will learn the ins and outs of course planning, assist with organizational tasks, and support registration management. They will also help facilitate on-site courses, workshops, and lectures while contributing to public relations efforts. Over the year, they will explore all aspects of the vhs, engage in professional development, and—during the second half of their service—lead their own project.
Applications are open until Thursday, April 30, 2026, via the online portal: *Placement Details – Voluntary Services in Culture and Education*.
For questions about the placement and responsibilities, the pedagogical director is available. For organizational inquiries, the District Administration's Voluntary Services Team can be contacted. Further details are available at *vhs Marburg-Biedenkopf: FSJ at the Adult Education Center*.
