VNU-HCM Aims for Asia's Top 100 by 2030, Engages with Horizon Europe
Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) is expanding its international reach, aiming to be among Asia's top 100 universities by 2030. A recent workshop, co-hosted with EURAXESS ASEAN and the European Union, focused on Horizon Europe, the EU's global research cooperation framework.
Horizon Europe, with a €95.5 billion budget for 2021-2027, targets global challenges like climate change and digital transformation. VNU-HCM, eager to link with European networks, sees this as an opportunity to strengthen its research capabilities and improve scientific quality.
The workshop, titled 'Horizon Europe - Opportunities for international collaboration in research and innovation', offered an overview of the programme and practical training for applying to EU grants. It aimed to enhance the international integration capacity of Vietnamese lecturers and scientists, aligning with VNU-HCM's goal to become a core connector between Vietnamese research groups and European networks.
VNU-HCM's ambition to join the top 100 Asian universities by 2030 is boosted by its engagement with Horizon Europe. The workshop marked a significant step in fostering international collaboration, with VNU-HCM poised to benefit from the EU's substantial research funding and global focus.
