Vietnam’s National Assembly tackles wages and infrastructure after landmark session

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn recently met with voters in Vị Thanh Ward, Cần Thơ, following the 15th legislature’s 10th session. During the gathering, he discussed the session’s achievements and addressed local concerns about wages, transport, and social policies. The 10th session of the 15th legislature passed 51 laws and 39 resolutions, tackling key issues such as housing, healthcare, and land law reforms. Voters in Cần Thơ welcomed these outcomes but pushed for an early increase to the base salary by 2026. Other pressing topics included improving transport infrastructure, streamlining planning work, and refining social insurance policies. The meeting underscored the session’s legislative progress while addressing voter demands for wage adjustments and infrastructure upgrades. Local leaders now face the task of executing these plans to meet Cần Thơ’s development goals in the coming decades.
