Vienna Youth College transforms young refugees’ futures with 86% success rate
The Vienna Youth College, run by BFI Vienna for the Public Employment Service (AMS), has helped thousands of young refugees and asylum seekers achieve success in gaining qualifications. With a budget of €38.17 million for the new funding year, the program supports participants aged 18 to 25 in earning their compulsory school-leaving certificate. So far, its success rate stands at 86%, with some branches achieving even higher results.
The project provides a structured environment, offering six hours of daily instruction in language skills, basic education, and socio-pedagogical support. One of its branches, located in Vienna’s 2nd district, reports a 93% success rate. Since its launch, 3,120 young asylum recipients and subsidiary protection holders have taken part.
The Vienna Youth College continues to play a key role in integrating young refugees into education and the job market. With a strong success rate and thousands of participants, the initiative helps bridge gaps in qualifications and employment. The €38.17 million funding ensures its ongoing support for those seeking a stable future in Austria.
