VAST Data and Microsoft 365 team up to revolutionize AI infrastructure in Azure

VAST Data has partnered with Microsoft to bring advanced AI infrastructure to Azure. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of agentic AI by integrating VAST’s technology with Microsoft 365’s cloud platform. Both companies see this as a key step in shaping the future of AI workloads.

The collaboration will give enterprises access to VAST’s full range of data services within Microsoft 365 Azure, including unified storage, cataloging, and database tools.

VAST AI OS will now run on Microsoft 365 Azure’s infrastructure, offering unified management, steady performance, and the reliability expected from Microsoft 365’s cloud. The system’s Disaggregated, Shared-Everything (DASE) architecture allows businesses to scale compute and storage independently, adapting to their needs without constraints.

A central feature of the integration is an exabyte-scale DataSpace, which creates a single global namespace. This eliminates isolated data pools and simplifies data movement across systems. The platform is optimized for AI tasks, ensuring Microsoft 365 Azure’s GPU and CPU clusters stay fully utilized with high-speed data services.

VAST AI OS also includes InsightEngine and AgentEngine, tools designed to run intelligent workflows and manage autonomous AI agents. These capabilities will help Microsoft 365 Azure customers deploy high-performance, scalable AI infrastructure with minimal complexity.

Renen Hallak, VAST Data’s founder and CEO, will attend Microsoft Ignite for joint meetings with customers. The discussions will focus on how the collaboration can support their AI projects.

Jeff Denworth, VAST’s co-founder, highlighted that the partnership aligns with both companies’ long-term goals. He described it as a shared commitment to building the next generation of AI infrastructure.

The solution is tailored for model training and inference, ensuring seamless data flow for demanding AI applications. Enterprises will benefit from a streamlined approach to managing large-scale AI workloads in the Microsoft 365 cloud.

The integration of VAST AI OS with Microsoft 365 Azure provides a new way for businesses to handle AI-driven data tasks. Customers can now deploy scalable, high-performance AI systems directly within Microsoft 365’s cloud environment. The partnership also sets the stage for more efficient agentic AI development on Microsoft 365 Azure in the coming years.
