UV student Macky Campos wins historic Prisaa oratorical championship in Region 7

Macky G. Campos, a BS-Psychology student from the University of the Visayas (UV), has secured first place in the Regional Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Oratorical Competition. The event took place on March 14, 2026, at Holy Name University's Harder Gymnasium in Bohol. His victory marks the first time a UV student has won the regional contest.

Campos impressed judges with his speech under the theme 'Inspiring Dreams, Igniting Passion, Innovating Pathways to the Olympics'. His strong oratory skills and public speaking ability set him apart from five other finalists in Region 7. Among the top contestants were Marione P. Fernan from Cristal e-College and Anthony Bruce Cabuenas from Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT-U).

Before this win, Campos had already proven his talent by taking first place in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) Season 2025-2026 Oration Contest on February 27, 2026. That victory qualified him for the Prisaa Region 7 competition. Under the guidance of coach Mary Grace N. Magan, he refined his performance and secured the championship title. As the regional winner, Campos will now represent Region 7 at the National Prisaa Games 2026-Oratorical Competition. The national event is scheduled to be held in Bacolod, Negros Occidental.

Campos's achievement makes him the first UV student to win the Prisaa Regional Oratorical Competition. His success follows a series of strong performances in local and regional contests. He will next compete at the national level in Bacolod later this year.
