UK’s Top Grammar School Expands to Dubai with AI-Focused Campus in 2026

Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet, is set to open its first international branch in Dubai, a major hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and global business. The Dubai campus, led by AI enthusiast Dan Clark, will initially cater to students from nursery to year 8, with plans to expand to include sixth form. This marks the first UK state grammar school to establish an overseas branch, offering the National Curriculum for England, with a focus on AI integration. Neil Enright, headmaster of the Barnet school, emphasized the commitment to fostering opportunity and leadership in the AI age. The Dubai campus will open in August 2026, led by Dan Clark, who will bring his experience from Marlborough College to uphold the school's tradition of academic excellence and character formation in the AI era. Caroline Pendleton-Nash, CEO of Queen Elizabeth's Global Schools, expressed excitement about the Dubai branch's potential to contribute to the global AI landscape. The school's location in Dubai, a hub for AI and innovation, will provide access to exceptional athletic facilities and AI labs, further enhancing the educational experience. International collaboration is planned to build a global network of 'Elizabethans' skilled in AI, benefiting students in the UAE and Barnet. Dan Clark, appointed as the Founding Principal, aims to establish a community that produces confident, able, and responsible young people ready to shape the future of AI. The Dubai campus will initially open from nursery to year 8, later expanding to include sixth form, marking a significant step in the school's global expansion in the AI field.
