UK-Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network launches to elevate transnational education standards
The UK-Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network has been launched, aiming to bridge policy, academia, and resources to standardise transnational education (TNE) quality. Phenikaa University will lead the network in its first year, with Associate Professor Dr Nguyen Phu Khanh at the helm.
The network, comprising 12 Vietnamese institutions, seeks to enhance education quality, boost access to UK degrees, and strengthen cooperation with partners. The initiative is part of the British Council's TNE Strategy 2025-27, aiming to build a robust TNE community.
The launch, part of the UK-ASEAN Future Education Roadshow organised by the British Embassy and BritCharm, marks a significant step in UK-Vietnam educational cooperation. Both nations have agreed to promote academic exchanges, develop joint programmes, and improve English proficiency. The network, chaired by Dr Khanh, aims to improve training and learning experiences, fostering stronger ties between the two countries in TNE.
The UK-Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network, with Ionah Hằng Nguyễn and Claire Trang Ton as founding members, is set to enhance educational quality and access to UK degrees. With a focus on standardisation and cooperation, the network looks to strengthen academic ties between Vietnam and the UK.
