UAE Youth Gain Free AI and Data Analytics Skills Through New Khan Academy Program

A new self-paced certification program in AI and data analytics has launched for young people in the UAE. The initiative, a partnership between du Youth Council and Khan Academy, aims to equip university students and young professionals with in-demand digital skills. It aligns with the country's long-term goals under UAE Vision 2071 and the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.

The 42-hour program focuses on AI and data science, blending hands-on training with real-world projects. Learners will work with advanced generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, alongside analytics platforms like Excel, SQL, and Tableau. Upon completion, participants receive globally recognised Cisco-certified credentials and digital badges to boost their career prospects.

Khan Academy has operated in the UAE since 1999, training over 144,000 learners to date. In the 2025 fiscal year alone, more than 29,000 students completed its courses. The new initiative builds on this track record, offering flexible online access year-round to accommodate busy schedules.

Ahmed Elkabbany, Regional Manager at Khan's Digital Impact Office for the Middle East, Africa, and CIS, highlighted the program's role in supporting the UAE's digital transformation. The collaboration with du, a major telecom and digital services provider, also includes a youth-led telecommunications offering, further expanding opportunities for young talent.

The program provides a structured pathway for UAE youth to gain expertise in AI and data analytics. Participants will earn industry-recognised qualifications while contributing to the nation's technological advancement. Registration remains open throughout the year via Khan Academy's digital platform.
