UAE Opens Islamic Educational Institution in Kyrgyzstan
The Islamic Academy in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan was inaugurated on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the friendship between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The academy, built by the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation at a cost exceeding $5 million, was provided with a budget by Qatar.
President Sadyr Japarov described the academy as a testament to the friendship between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan. He commended the UAE's humanitarian contributions, particularly in the field of education. The academy's inception and operation are inspired by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as indicated by the UAE's belief in education as a cornerstone of development and a legacy.
The academy's curriculum is designed to clarify authentic Islamic concepts while instilling values of tolerance, justice, and compassion. It aims to prepare highly qualified staff, enhance educational competitiveness, and foster cultural and intellectual exchange. The academy features modern classrooms and resources to strengthen university and postgraduate education.
Classes at the academy are scheduled to begin this academic year, offering programmes both free of charge and on a fee-paying basis. This will provide thousands of young people with valuable opportunities. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan oversaw the academy, while H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan supported the initiative.
Muhanna Obaid Al Muhairi, Deputy Director General of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, stated that the institution represents a pioneering educational model. He believes that the academy will act as a beacon of knowledge and prepare future generations to face contemporary challenges with confidence and ethical foundations.
The UAE delegation, acting on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, carried out the academy's inauguration. The academy is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the ties between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan, and in promoting educational excellence and cultural exchange.
