Tubô Cebu Art Fair 2025 celebrates *Provenance* with record-breaking regional turnout
The Tubô Cebu Art Fair 2025 concluded successfully after three days in Cebu City, Philippines. Established by Filipino curator Maria Victoria 'Vicky' Tan, this year's event centered around the theme Provenance and attracted artists, collectors, and enthusiasts from across the region. Proceeds from the fair will support the Arts Council of Cebu's educational initiatives.
The fair commenced with a book launch and discussion by Josua Cabrera on August 29. The following day, street art collective Writer’s Block created a live mural, adding a dynamic element to the programme.
On August 31, Tubô Talks featured a panel discussing Cebu's contemporary art scene and sessions with emerging artists. A highlight of the event was the special collection by Martino Abellana, known as the Dean of Cebuano Painters. The fair also presented its Image of the Fair, displaying works by Jonathan Abellana, Khriss Bajade, Gabi Nazareno, and John Villoria.
Since its inception in 2018, the fair has grown from 30 participants to over 100 in 2025. Media partners for this year included Agimat, Keetaph, Art+ Magazine, MYTV, Cebu Daily News Digital, and PRWorks, Inc.
The 2025 edition of Tubô Cebu Art Fair solidified its position as a major cultural event in the region. With increasing participation and a focus on local talent, the fair continues to support Cebu's arts community while raising funds for education programmes.
