TU Dresden Students Present Innovative Urban Design Concepts for Meißen
Students from TU Dresden, studying landscape architecture, will present their innovative urban design concepts for Meißen at the Stadtbibliothek Meißen, Kleinmarkt 5, on October 21, 2025, at 4 PM. The event is open to the public and will showcase the students' work from their 'Meißen for all' workshop.
The workshop, held earlier this year, focused on topics such as preferred parking spots, hangout areas, and local origins. The students, under the guidance of Professor Ana Viader Soler, have been working on seven projects and an overall strategy for Meißen's old town and surrounding area. Their presentation will highlight the use of valuable inner-city spaces, mobility, and climate change considerations, with a particular focus on the Elbe riverbank and city entrances.
The students' involvement in Meißen began in May 2025 when they visited the city for their master's or bachelor's degree projects in landscape architecture. Their 'Meißen for all' workshop was an opportunity to engage with locals and visitors, seeking their input on shaping the city's inner space.
On October 21, 2025, the students and Professor Ana Viader Soler will present their ideas to the city development committee. The presentation aims to contribute to Meißen's urban development, making it more inclusive and responsive to the needs of its residents and visitors.
