Transneft-Sever JSC bridges education and industry for future engineers
A meeting between leading specialists from Transneft-Sever JSC and students enrolled in the company's targeted degree programs took place at Ukhta State Technical University (USTU). The event focused on employment opportunities and professional adaptation for future young specialists.
The discussion brought together third- and fourth-year students who will soon join the workforce at Transneft-Sever JSC. The company was represented by technical experts and department heads.
A highlight of the meeting was the students' individual presentations. Soon-to-be graduates showcased their academic achievements and provided detailed overviews of their thesis projects. This format allowed company representatives to assess the students' level of training while also gauging how closely their research interests align with real-world industrial challenges.
Following the presentations, an open discussion took place: Transneft-Sever JSC specialists asked clarifying questions, explored the practical applications of the students' work, and inquired about their future plans.
Particular emphasis was placed on additional professional training. Representatives from USTU's Institute of Advanced Training—a structural division of the university—informed students about free vocational education programs. Acquiring a trade qualification alongside their university degree will help graduates adapt more quickly to workplace demands and gain deeper hands-on expertise.
The event underscored the effectiveness of the targeted education system, where companies train specialists for specific tasks while students receive guaranteed employment and ongoing support.
