In other news, Park University has been making waves across various fields. Ilya Shmukler, a graduate student in Park University's International Center for Music, recently participated in a two-part, 18-minute interview that aired on K297BI / WFUN-FM-HD2 in St. Louis. Meanwhile, Ricky Godbolt, '93, Ed.D., has been honoured with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Park University Alumni Association.
Academic achievements are also abundant. John Hamilton, Ph.D. is the recipient of the 2024 Paul H. Gault Service Award from Park University's Office of Academic Affairs. Jeanette Prenger, '09, a former chair of Park University's Board of Trustees, was named to the "Top 50 Women Leaders of Missouri for 2024" by Women We Admire.
The world of sports hasn't been left out either. Martha Linscott, Park University Parkville (Mo.) Campus men's and women's golf head coach, competed in the 2024 U.S. Senior Women's Open but missed the cut by two strokes. Park University's baseball players Luis Gonzalez and Gilberto Torres were selected by the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation as members of the national U-23 team for the Baseball World Cup.
The ceremony recognising the recipients of the Park University Alumni Association awards and the University's 2024 Athletics Wall of Honor awardees will be held on Sept. 27. Other notable awardees include Master Sgt. Corey Holt, '19, MPA '22, the recipient of the Park Promising Young Professional Award, and Tim Westcott, Ph.D., who receives the Torchlighter Award.
In the realm of academia, Park University has been named to Money magazine's "Best Colleges for Online Bachelor's Degree Programs." The University also ranks 18th on estimated annual price and 20th on average early career salaries in the Money magazine list. Cassie Werle, assistant teaching professor of nursing, recently earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Regis College in Massachusetts.
Amber Dailey-Hebert, Ph.D., director of the Faculty Center for Innovation and professor of organizational leadership and adult learning, was invited by Coursera to serve as a subject matter expert and develop a series of content for a short course on "Fostering Psychological Safety."
The Campanella Gallery at Park University has opened its 2024-25 season with an exhibit of illustrations and paintings by Cody Page. The Park University International Center for Music will collaborate with Overland Park, Kan., based NAVO Arts for its 2024-25 season opening concert on Sept. 20.
