A trio of young engineers from kindergarten No.79 in Nizhny Novgorod made waves at the International Robotics Championship "SAKHALIN 6.0", snagging the top spot in the youngest preschool category (4-6 years old). This news was shared by the city administration's information policy department.
The grand event took place at the "Pushechka" airport in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, attracting the brightest young engineering minds from various regions, including Nizhny Novgorod, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, as well as international participants hailing from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China.
Their fantastic performance was the result of their victory in the regional qualifying championship of the International STEAM Education Competitions "LEAGUE", which took place in February this year. Five kindergartens in Nizhny Novgorod—79, 114, 122, and 137—showcased their engineering agrotechnical projects, aiming to preserve crops.
The "TechnoDets" team, consisting of prodigious young engineers Daniil Lakoev, Artemiy Salov, and their mentor, Natalya Gavrilova, successfully completed the team task and presented a project on harvesting, transporting, and storing crops. They also collaborated with other teams, sharing experiences and knowledge.
Marina Smirnova, head of the Avtovozdny district administration's department of preschool education, commended their achievements, expressing, "This is a significant milestone in the development of children's engineering creativity. After a tremendous amount of hard work, we have an amazing outcome. Congratulations to the children, their parents, and their teachers!"
Other notable young talents include the "UM-nyashki" team from kindergarten No.114 (Ekaterina Kulikova and Ivan Pavlov, under the guidance of trainer Natalya Tokareva), who secured the "Revealing the theme of seasons" nomination. The "KVANTik" team, representing kindergarten No.122 (Anya Chistyakova and Alisa Shcherbakov, mentored by Angelica Panagina), excelled in the additional task.
