Sweden Opens Fully Funded Master's Scholarships for 2026 Global Leaders

The Swedish government has launched the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals 2026, offering fully funded master's degrees to international students. Applications will open on 9 February 2026, with a tight deadline later that month. The scholarship covers tuition, living costs, and travel for eligible candidates from 34 countries.

The scholarship supports one or two-year master's programmes taught in English at Swedish universities. It includes full tuition fee coverage, with payments made directly to institutions by the Swedish Institute. Successful applicants also receive a monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000 for accommodation, food, and daily expenses, along with a one-time travel grant of up to SEK 15,000 to assist with relocation.

Eligible programmes for Autumn 2026 include Lund University's one-year Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the University of Gothenburg's two-year Master's in International Administration and Global Governance. No matching programmes were found in Public Health or STEM fields that explicitly qualify for the scholarship this year.

To apply, candidates must be citizens of one of the 34 eligible countries and demonstrate verified work and leadership experience. Only those admitted or conditionally admitted to a qualifying master's programme will be considered. The scholarship aims to support experienced professionals seeking advanced education and leadership development.

The SI Scholarship provides a fully funded opportunity for international students to study in Sweden. Applications close shortly after opening on 9 February 2026, with decisions based on admission status and professional background. The programme covers all major expenses, ensuring financial support throughout the study period.
