Students in Tomsk are seeing improved scores on standardized tests.

In the latest Unified State Exam (USE) held in the Tomsk region, there has been a significant surge in the number of students passing in natural sciences compared to the previous year. The rise in participants, from 3088 in 2024 to 4371 in 2025, reflects a notable increase of 483 students.

This year's exam saw a remarkable achievement as fourteen students scored a perfect 200 in chemistry, seven in physics, six in informatics, two in profile mathematics, and one in biology. Among the top performers was Darja Pchelinceva, a graduate of the Tomsk Polytechnic University Lyceum, who achieved perfect scores in both chemistry and physics. Stepan Kiselev, another graduate from the same institution, scored a perfect 200 in profile mathematics and physics.

The improved results in 2025 are not limited to the number of students passing or the number of perfect scores. The average test score for these natural sciences subjects also saw a steady rise, increasing from 55 in 2023 to 58.04 in 2024 and further to 58.57 in 2025. This indicates a general improvement in the understanding and mastery of these subjects among students.

The increased participation and improved results in natural sciences subjects in the Unified State Exam can be attributed to a growing interest in these subjects among students. In 2025, 62% of participants chose at least one of these subjects, marking an increase from 56% in the previous year.

Overall, the 2025 Tomsk USE in natural sciences has shown promising results, with more students participating, more perfect scores being recorded, and an increase in the average test scores. For detailed statistics and analysis about USE results in natural sciences for the Tomsk region, including subject distribution and top performers, it is recommended to consult official regional education department reports, the Russian Ministry of Education's official releases, or trusted educational news sources. These sources typically publish detailed annual reports on exam results by region and subject.

Darja Pchelinceva's achievement of perfect scores in chemistry and physics at the Tomsk Polytechnic University Lyceum underscores the importance of stem-education and learning in driving success in the Unified State Exam. The growing interest in natural sciences, evident by the increase in participants choosing these subjects, also contributes to the improved results and education-and-self-development of students.
