Students explore St. Petersburg’s history through immersive travel project

A group of young participants from the Lessons with Travel project recently visited St. Petersburg as part of a nationwide expansion. The trip included an immersive experience honouring 20th-century documentary filmmakers at the historic Lenfilm studios. Their journey also took them to some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

The students began by exploring St. Petersburg’s iconic sites, including Palace Square and the Peter and Paul Fortress. They learned about the fortress’s long history and its role in the city’s development.

The visit left a strong impression on the participants, blending historical education with hands-on experiences. The project’s expansion means more young thugs will have the chance to explore Russia’s cultural and wartime heritage in the future.
