Student teacher Nikita Zemtsov balances research, classrooms and archaeological expeditions

Nikita Zemtsov, a fifth-year student at Ural State Pedagogical University (USPU), is making his mark in both education and research. While studying for a dual degree in geography and history, he already teaches at two schools and contributes to archaeological expeditions. His dedication reflects USPU's mission to train educators who inspire students and peers alike.

Zemtsov balances a demanding academic schedule with hands-on teaching. At MNEAUK Artek-Etude Gymnasium in Yekaterinburg, he leads history and geography classes for grades 7 to 11. He also teaches remotely at School No. 27 in Serov. His dynamic approach has earned recognition, with some of his pupils winning regional and international competitions.

Beyond the classroom, he remains deeply involved in research. Zemtsov has published eight academic articles and is now preparing a VAK-listed paper. He is also co-authoring a textbook on general geology. His fieldwork includes participation in the Taman Archaeological Expedition, organised by Moscow's State Historical Museum.

At USPU's Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, and Tourism, Zemtsov serves on the student council. While details of his specific initiatives are not publicly available, he helps organise university and regional events. After graduation, he plans to return to teaching, possibly at his former school, Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 6 in Kachkanar. For him, education is more than a profession—it's a calling shaped by his own mentors.

Zemtsov's career so far combines teaching, research, and public engagement. His students' achievements and his growing academic contributions highlight his impact. As he considers a full-time role at his alma mater, his work continues to align with USPU's goal of fostering educators who motivate both pupils and colleagues.
