Star Singers bring hope to children’s rights with door-to-door carols

Star Singers have taken to the streets of Kaufbeuren and nearby towns, dressed as the Three Wise Kings. They are collecting donations for children’s rights projects worldwide under the slogan ‘School, Not the Factory’.

The annual Star-Singen-Aktionen is organised by Verein ‘Wir sind Kaufbeuren’, a group that runs over twenty cultural events each year. This year’s campaign coincides with the Jungfruhs celebrations, adding local significance to the effort.

The singers, in traditional robes and crowns, are visiting homes door-to-door. All donations gathered will fund education and aid initiatives for disadvantaged children globally. City officials have backed the event, reinforcing its role in both community engagement and charitable work. The campaign’s focus on children’s rights aligns with broader efforts to combat child labour and promote schooling.

The initiative brings together tradition and activism, with funds directly supporting vulnerable children. Residents can expect the Star Singers until the campaign concludes, offering a chance to contribute to the cause. Donations will go toward projects ensuring education over exploitation.
