Star Singers bless Langenfeld Town Hall in annual charity mission

Langenfeld Town Hall received its annual blessing today from the Star Singers, dressed as the Three Wise Men. The group marked the entrance with the traditional inscription '20*C+M+B+26' while sharing details of their latest charity campaign. This year’s effort targets child labour in Bangladesh and runs until January 10, 2026.

The Star Singers’ visit included a blessing ceremony at the town hall, a long-standing tradition in Langenfeld. Their inscription, chalked above the entrance, symbolises the new year and their mission.

Mayor Gerold Wenzens commended the singers for their dedication to social causes. He highlighted their work in raising awareness of child labour and funding education projects. The campaign, titled School Instead of Factory – Star Singing for Children’s Rights, focuses specifically on supporting vulnerable children in Bangladesh. Donations collected between January 3 and January 10 will go to the Holy Childhood Association. The funds will back local educational programmes, ensuring children in need gain access to schooling rather than exploitative work.

The Star Singers’ campaign continues until January 10, with volunteers gathering contributions across Langenfeld. All proceeds will directly support the Holy Childhood Association’s initiatives. The town hall blessing marks the start of a week-long push to improve children’s rights through education.
