Sranan Gold uncovers high-grade gold across 4.5 km in Suriname's Tapanahony Project
Sranan Gold Corp. has reported high-grade gold findings at its Tapanahony Project in Suriname. The company, which explores mineral assets in both Suriname and Canada, revealed strong results from the Poeketi target area. Recent drilling and sampling have expanded the known gold trend to over 4.5 kilometres, with some samples showing grades as high as 26.7 grams per tonne.
The Poeketi-Randy's Pit gold trend stretches along a geological structure marked by past small-scale mining. Recent step-out drilling has extended the mineralised zone further, uncovering high-grade intercepts. One notable result included 20.6 metres at 0.64 g/t gold, while another showed 4 metres at 6.58 g/t gold.
Grab samples from the Poeketi target have now pushed its length beyond 1,000 metres. The area is characterised by open pits and shafts left by local miners, with mineralisation found in fault-filled quartz veins. A drill hole at Randy's Pit returned 11.5 metres grading 3.64 g/t gold, reinforcing the potential of the site. The company is currently drilling just north of Randy's Pit after fixing mechanical issues with its diamond core rig. Samples were processed by Filab in Paramaribo, following strict quality control measures. Dr. Dennis J. LaPoint, a qualified geologist, reviewed and approved the technical details of the findings.
Sranan Gold's latest results confirm high-grade gold across a 4.5-kilometre trend in Suriname. The company plans further trenching and drilling to test the expanded Poeketi target. These findings could strengthen the project's viability as exploration continues.
