Sparkasse Solingen Launches 18th Apprentice Project: Redesigning Outdoor Spaces for Children
Sparkasse Solingen is launching its 18th apprentice construction project, aiming to improve outdoor spaces for kids in the city. Non-profit facilities with exemption certificates can apply, with the project set to take place from April 20 to 24, 2026.
The project, to be implemented by second-year apprentices and dual students at Sparkasse Solingen, will see the chosen facility's outdoor area redesigned. The ideas for the redesign will be developed in collaboration with the facility. The application deadline is November 14, 2025, and further information and application documents will be available from October 6, 2025, on the Sparkasse Solingen website.
A jury consisting of local media, city representatives, and Sparkasse Solingen staff will review applications in early December and award the contract. The bank will cover material costs and provide labor through its apprentices. The project aims to benefit children and allow for a freely designed outdoor space.
All non-profit Solingen facilities with a current exemption certificate are encouraged to apply for the 18th apprentice construction project. The project, starting in April 2026, offers a unique opportunity to enhance outdoor spaces for kids in the city.
