South Barpeta School’s Platinum Jubilee to Showcase Assam’s Rich Cultural Heritage
South Barpeta Vidyamandir High School is set to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee from November 22 to 24. The celebration, with an estimated budget of Rs 15 lakh, will include cultural performances, public meetings, and activities showcasing the school's history and achievements.
The event will kick off on November 22 with the hoisting of 75 flags, symbolising 75 years of the institution's journey. The highlight of the celebrations will be the inauguration of the culturally rich Ethnic Train of Assam on November 23. Devraj Ojha, a renowned cultural figure from Assam, will participate in this significant event. The same day will also see a cultural procession representing various ethnic groups of Assam.
A special tribute will be paid to two prominent figures from the state - the late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and Zubeen Garg. Their contributions to Assamese culture and music will be honoured during the celebrations.
