Smartphone addiction is women’s top first-date red flag, Avito poll reveals

A recent Avito poll has revealed the top 'red flags' women notice on a first date, with constant smartphone use topping the list. The survey also delved into literary characters, with men and women having differing views on who they find alarming or positive.

In the dating world, women are quick to spot potential issues. Constant smartphone use on a first date was the most off-putting trait, according to the Avito poll. Other red flags included manipulative or narcissistic men, self-serving women, and dangerous or destructive personalities.

Turning to literature, women named Pierre Bezukhov, Pyotr Grinyov, and Andrei Bolkonsky as positive characters. However, they also found certain characters alarming. Rodion Raskolnikov, Eugene Onegin, and Ilya Oblomov topped this list. Men, on the other hand, found Anna Karenina, Margarita, and Sonya Marmeladova the most alarming, while they viewed Margarita, Natasha Rostova, and Tatyana Larina positively.

The poll also explored age differences. Among respondents aged 18 to 24, Ilya Oblomov and Eugene Onegin were most frequently cited as alarming characters.

The Avito poll has provided valuable insights into what women look out for on a first date and their perceptions of literary characters. Constant smartphone use was a clear deal-breaker, while literary tastes varied between men and women, and even among age groups.
