Simplifying the search and enrolment process for nurseries in the UK, Nuuri secures £275K in Pre-Seed funding.
Nuuri, a groundbreaking search and enrolment platform for nurseries, has raised £275,000 (approximately €316,000) in Pre-Seed funding. This funding will be instrumental in transforming the nursery sector in the UK, making the process of finding a nursery less stressful for parents and caregivers.
Based in Edinburgh, Nuuri is a member of Tech Scaler, a Scottish Government-funded accelerator program. The platform, described as 'The Rightmove for nurseries', was launched in December 2024 and is currently live across Scotland, England, and Wales.
The platform offers a range of features, including virtual nursery tours, room capacities, cost calculators, search filtering, and an essential parent advice hub. This advice hub provides guidance on issues such as applying for Government funding, different types of nurseries, what to look for when searching for a nursery, costs, and navigating lengthy waitlists.
Steven Clarke, the Founder and CEO of Nuuri, is a busy working dad who experienced difficulties finding a nursery for his child. He created Nuuri with the aim of simplifying the process of finding a nursery, especially for first-time parents. The platform does not provide any advertisements, ensuring a clean and uncluttered user experience.
The funds raised will be used to accelerate product development, focusing on AI tooling to replace manual documents and communications. This AI tooling is intended to streamline the process of finding a nursery and enrollment. The funding will also be allocated to enhance the parent journey through search and enrolment, nursery marketing, and onboarding across the UK's private nursery sector.
Nuuri works closely with nurseries to help them manage pre-enrolment admin overload by providing a modern digital shop-front, streamlining enrollment, and improving communication. The platform's focus on digitalising search and enrolment in one place sets it apart as the UK's first platform to do so.
Since raising the funds, Nuuri has been actively progressing towards transforming the nursery sector in the UK. The platform's mission and progress appear validated and grounded, emphasizing clarity and sustained growth rather than rapid but unstructured scaling.
Looking ahead, the future plans for Nuuri include continuing to enhance the platform’s capabilities and impact across the nursery sector. The funding will support scaling up operations and possibly integrating advanced technologies to further improve search and enrolment efficiency for nurseries and parents, aiming to transform the sector comprehensively.
As Nuuri continues to grow and evolve, it promises to revolutionise the way parents find and enrol their children in nurseries, making the process simpler, more efficient, and less stressful.
Technology will be integrated into Nuuri's platform to automate manual documents and communications, enhancing the efficiency of finding and enrolling in nurseries. This development in education-and-self-development sector will aim to transform the nursery sector comprehensively across the UK.
