The Yakutia Youth Card and the Yakutia Resident Card are set to be introduced for schoolchildren in Yakutia from September 2025. These cards are part of the national project "Family," initiated by President Vladimir Putin, and aim to provide free travel on public transport for schoolchildren.

For schoolchildren aged 7 to 13, the Yakutia Youth Card will be available. To receive the benefit of free travel on transport from the beginning of the new academic year, it is recommended to apply for the cards in advance, before September 1. Applications can be made at the offices of "Almazergienbank" or online at the bank's website.

Similarly, the Yakutia Resident Card will be introduced for schoolchildren aged 14 and above. The application process for both cards is the same.

It is important to note that all previously issued school transport cards will continue to work until the expiration date of the cards, i.e., until the completion of studies in grades 4, 7, and 9. Old school transport cards will be gradually replaced with the Yakutia Youth Card or the Yakutia Resident Card as needed.

Starting from September 2024, children from large families in grades 1-11 (12) in general educational institutions in areas with public passenger automobile transport will receive free travel by automobile transport, excluding taxis, for urban and suburban communication.

However, for precise procedures, deadlines starting from September 2025, required documents, and where to apply, it is recommended to consult the official Yakutsk city government or Sakha Republic social services websites or contact their offices directly. Families not included in the registry of large families with school-age children can contact the Unified Contact Center by calling the hotline number 8-800-100-00-01.

From September 1, 2025, the issuance of new school transport cards will not be carried out. Instead, the introduction of transport applications of the single digital service "Yakutia Youth Card" and "Yakutia Resident Card" for paying for discounted travel will begin. This benefit is provided without any criteria of need and is implemented annually from September 1 to May 31.

We hope this information helps you prepare for the upcoming changes in school transport in Yakutia. For more detailed and up-to-date information, we encourage you to consult the official Yakutsk city government or Sakha Republic social services websites or contact their offices directly.

For schoolchildren aged 7 to 18, both the Yakutia Youth Card and the Yakutia Resident Card will be available for application, as part of the education-and-self-development focus of the national project "Family." From September 1, 2025, the issuance of new school transport cards will cease, and instead, the use of the single digital service "Yakutia Youth Card" and "Yakutia Resident Card" for discounted travel will commence.
