The Metropolregion Hamburg is set to host the third instalment of its "Wissenschaf(f)tUnternehmen" event on July 4, 2023. This free and open event invites businesses, entrepreneurs, and students to engage in discussions about sustainability and innovation.

The event aims to drive innovations, knowledge transfer, and collaboration between science, research, and business. The universities of Helmut-Schmidt-Universität Hamburg, Technical University of Hamburg, Hochschule Wismar, and Leuphana University of Lüneburg are participating, each presenting short projects that focus on sustainability.

Topics for discussion at the event include the recovery of valuable materials from batteries, resource savings through upcycling in construction, increasing energy efficiency in the chemical industry, and a network for knowledge transfer in sustainable production. After the presentations, there will be four in-depth discussions on each topic, offering attendees the opportunity to delve deeper into the subjects.

In addition to the universities, two innovation centers and a new startup center, DeveLup, have been approved for the Metropolregion Hamburg. The region's universities are also seeking partnerships with both academic and non-academic institutions within the region and internationally, with a focus on cooperative research in areas like sustainability, health economy, urban and regional development, digitalization, and innovative transformation projects.
