### Eni Ghana's Scholarship Program Empowers Ellembelle District Youth

In a bid to support local communities and foster economic development, Eni Ghana, in collaboration with the World Bank, has launched a scholarship program for students in the Ellembelle District. The initiative, part of a larger Local Development Project, is a joint effort with partners including Vitol Upstream Ghana Ltd, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and Volta Ghana (VIS).

The scholarship program is designed to provide educational opportunities for local youth, focusing on vocational and technical courses. This initiative is a significant part of Eni Ghana's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aiming to enhance the skill set of youth in the district, where Eni and its partners have significant operations.

Vitol, known for its trading and energy investment activities, often collaborates with companies like Eni on CSR projects. GNPC, as the national petroleum corporation of Ghana, plays a crucial role in the development of the country's energy sector. VIS, a non-governmental organization involved in development cooperation and international solidarity and an educational agency, promotes and organizes awareness-raising, education, and training activities for development and global citizenship.

The scholarship program has been extended to 14 communities within the Ellembelle District, including Atuabo, Bakanta, Ngalekye, Sanzule (including Anwolakrom fishing area), Krisan, Eikwe, Anokyi, Ngalekpole, Asemda, Baku, Anyinase, Esiama, Half Assini, and Nkroful. Eni Ghana, along with its partners, has handed over scholarship packages to over 1,000 students in these communities.

The scholarship covers a wide range of expenses for the students, including tuition, registration fees, books, accommodation, transportation, and monthly allowances. This comprehensive support aims to ensure that students can focus on their studies without financial worries.

The scholarship program has far-reaching benefits for the region. It promotes economic empowerment by equipping young people with skills highly sought after in the job market, leading to better job prospects and higher earning potential. The program also contributes to community development by ensuring a pool of skilled workers who can contribute to the region's economic activities.

Moreover, the focus on energy-related courses helps build capacity within the sector, supporting Ghana's long-term energy goals and contributing to sustainability. The collaboration between Eni, Vitol, GNPC, and VIS demonstrates how partnerships between major energy companies can benefit local communities through shared CSR initiatives.

Beyond economic benefits, the program can have a positive social impact by promoting education and reducing unemployment rates among youth. The Ellembelle District Assembly played a significant role in the design and implementation of the scholarship program, ensuring that it aligns with the district's development goals.

In summary, Eni Ghana's scholarship program, in partnership with Vitol, GNPC, and VIS, is designed to enhance the skills of local youth in the Ellembelle District. It aims to support both individual development and regional economic growth through education and capacity building. This initiative is a testament to Eni's commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment in Ghana.
