Yulia Polovinkina, a student from KubGUT and a resident of Maykop, has made significant strides in urban development with her project aimed at improving Lenin Square, a central and important public space in her city.

The project, which began in October 2024, was part of a competition organized by the AVA Group, a holding focused on supporting young talents in architecture and construction. The competition took place over a period of three months, during which students from major universities in Krasnodar prepared their projects, implemented creative ideas, and presented them to the commission.

Polovinkina's project was developed for the "New Life of Public Spaces" nomination in the competition. Her detailed proposal for the square aimed to enhance its aesthetic and functional aspects, likely involving landscaping, renovation, and installation of new public amenities to create a more welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

The project was praised for its integration of modern urban planning principles with the cultural and historical identity of Maykop. This integration contributed to the revitalization of a key public space, not only advancing the local improvement agenda but also bringing national attention to Maykop.

Polovinkina's efforts and the project's potential impact on the community gained recognition, as it made significant progress through the competition stages. In the "Campus of High Technologies" grant competition in the "Innovation" nomination, her joint work with Daria Nechitailo received the award.

The project's success did not go unnoticed by the AVA Group. Vagan Arutyunyan, the general director of AVA Group, emphasized the importance of giving opportunities to the young generation to develop their talents. As a result, Yulia Polovinkina received a six-month scholarship from the AVA Group.

Moreover, Polovinkina's philosophy resonated with the jury members, who highly appreciated her ideas. The project was presented to the expert jury at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities of Russia in Moscow. In the "Improvement" competition in the "Central Square" nomination, Polovinkina was named a finalist.

Polovinkina expressed that participating in the federal stage of the competition provided her with new knowledge and understanding for future development. The results of the competition inspired her to develop the project further. She conveyed that the support from the AVA Group boosted her confidence and helped her advance her project.

The project to improve Lenin Square in Maykop was selected among 1,500 participants in the competition. The AVA Group believes that initiatives like these strengthen the professional community, and Yulia Polovinkina's project is a testament to the potential of young talents in urban development.
