Satluj Public School’s 49th Annual Day Celebrates India’s Rich Culture in Grand Style

Satluj Public School in Panchkula recently celebrated its 49th annual day with two days of vibrant performances. The event, themed Nation Rising – The World Wakes up to the Glory of India, featured students from various grades showcasing cultural, historical, and social narratives through dance, drama, and music. Distinguished guests attended each day, adding prestige to the occasion.

The first day began with Ms. Alba Smeriglio, Deputy High Commissioner of the British Deputy High Commission, serving as the Chief Guest. Students took the stage with Game Changers: The Women Who Made India Proud, a tribute to trailblazing Indian women. This was followed by Borders & Brotherhood: Divided by Politics, United by Love, a performance highlighting unity beyond geographical divides. The day concluded with Maha Kumbh: Myth, Belief, Reality, a portrayal of India’s deep spiritual traditions.

On the second day, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Jain, IPS, DGP of the Haryana Human Rights Commission, was the Chief Guest. Younger students opened with Winter Wonder: A Christmas Tale of Values, blending festive cheer with moral lessons. Grade VI presented Kantara: Roots, Rituals & Rise, exploring Indian cultural heritage, while Grade VII delivered Global Beats 2025: The World in Rhythm, a dynamic musical showcase. Mr. Reekrit Serai, the school’s Managing Director, later congratulated the students for their efforts. The celebrations also recognised Dr. Alka Sharma, the school’s Managing Member, who received the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2023 from the Government of India for her work in education and women’s empowerment.

The 49th annual day at Satluj Public School brought together performances that reflected India’s diversity, values, and achievements. With themes ranging from women’s empowerment to spiritual heritage, the event showcased student talent under the guidance of distinguished educators. The school’s commitment to cultural expression and academic excellence was evident throughout the two-day programme.
