Russia's Znanie Society Launches Patriotic Lecture Series for Defender of the Fatherland Day
The Russian Society Znanie has launched a nationwide lecture series to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day. Running from February 16 to 28, the programme includes talks, workshops, and interactive events. One of the key highlights is an online lecture by historian Sergei Naumov, scheduled for February 19 at 1:00 PM.
The events are open to anyone aged 12 and above. Participants can deliver their own themed lectures using materials provided by Znanie, including a new anthology of short stories titled Znanie.Heroes. The society has also organised historical presentations on military heritage, patriotic education seminars, and commemorative discussions.
Naumov's lecture, There Is Such a Profession—Defending the Motherland!, will explore Russia's military history. It will cover key moments and influential figures from the country's past. Those interested in attending must register in advance through their personal account on the Znanie website.
Beyond lectures, the programme features workshops, guided tours, and quizzes. These activities aim to engage audiences with the history and significance of Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The series offers a mix of educational and interactive sessions across the country. Naumov's lecture on February 19 will be a central event, requiring prior registration. All materials and activities are designed to be accessible to a wide audience.
