Russia’s Young Visionaries Compete to Redesign Future Cities
A new architecture and urban air planning competition has launched for young Russians aged 7 to 35. The contest encourages participants to help design future cities while promoting civic engagement and social responsibility. Winners will be revealed at ARCH Moscow, the International Architecture and Design Exhibition, in late May 2026.
The competition is open to Russian citizens in four age categories. Organisers hope to inspire fresh ideas for comfortable, functional urban spaces. Entries will focus on real-world solutions rather than abstract concepts.
Several major institutions have joined forces to run the event. These include the Federation Council, State Duma, and the Union of Architects of Russia. Support also comes from the Ministry of Construction and Housing, along with DOM.RF JSC and the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. Full details about the contest, its rules, and submission categories are available on the official website. The closing date for entries has not yet been announced.
Winners will be named during ARCH Moscow, held from May 28 to 30, 2026. The competition aims to turn young participants’ visions into practical urban improvements. Organisers have not disclosed whether any patrons or sponsors are involved.
