Russia's Far East unites to instill patriotism in younger generations

A recent virtual session brought together representatives from across Russia's Far East to discuss youth engagement in spiritual, moral and patriotic education. Victoria Golubleva, Deputy Speaker of the Magadan Regional Duma, joined the meeting, which focused on implementing President Vladimir Putin's decree on traditional Russian values. Participants shared regional initiatives aimed at strengthening patriotism and historical awareness among young people. The session centred on President Putin's decree, which calls for the preservation of traditional Russian spiritual and moral principles. Golubleva highlighted that approaches to fulfilling the decree remain consistent across the Far East, though specific regional programmes were not detailed in the available reports.

Representatives from women's councils in the Far Eastern regions presented their work, including projects that connect younger generations with national traditions and patriotism. Golubleva's own efforts in the Kolyma region involve roundtable discussions, meetings with public figures and sessions with youth to promote family values and historical knowledge.

Preparations for Victory Day were also a key topic. In Magadan, the Youth Parliament at the Regional Duma actively supports celebrations by preparing greetings for veterans and assisting in nationwide campaigns. The meeting discussed plans for visits to veterans and home-front workers, with youth activists playing a central role in the events. The session reinforced collaboration among Far Eastern regions in promoting traditional values. While no official count of regional programmes was provided, the exchange of experiences aims to strengthen youth engagement in patriotism and historical remembrance. Local initiatives, such as those in Magadan, will continue to shape celebrations like Victory Day.
