Russia’s Big Change Finale Celebrates Youth Innovation and Teamwork
Over 1,500 high school students from across Russia gathered at the Artek International Children’s Center for the finale of Big Change, a prestigious competition that fosters personal growth and new experiences. The event, part of the Russia—My Homeland programme, concluded with the announcement of winners and prize recipients, who received cash awards and other prizes.
Throughout the finale, contestants tackled case studies, showcasing their skills in analytics, cognitive flexibility, communication, and more. Projects ranged from preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War to brainstorming ways to fulfill the dreams of children with disabilities. Two schools from Nizhny Novgorod took first place in the team competition, demonstrating the depth of talent across Russia.
The finale was one of the key events in the 12th session of Russia—My Homeland, alongside Unity Day and the 10th anniversary International Media Forum. Three absolute winners and five first-place winners were announced, along with over 30 prize winners. While details of the final winners are not yet available, the real value of Big Change, according to participants and mentors, lies in the personal growth and friendships forged during the competition.
Big Change, now in its sixth year, continues to inspire and empower Russian youth. With over 1,500 students participating in the finale alone, the competition's impact is evident. As the programme concludes for another year, students return home with new experiences, skills, and lasting connections.
