Russia trains teens for drone warfare careers in new Patriot program
Russia's Patriot Center in Krasnodar Territory is training young students for careers in drone operations. The programme combines classroom learning with practical flight experience. It aims to prepare teenagers for technical universities or future service in the country's expanding UAV forces.
The centre teaches students about quadcopters and their uses in both military and civilian fields. Hands-on sessions include piloting drones and simulating combat scenarios. Flight simulators provide tailored instruction to build real-world skills.
Since 2022, the Ministry of Defence has rapidly expanded military-technical training across Russia. By 2026, around 200 schools and educational centres will offer similar programmes. These initiatives focus on preparing students for technical education and potential roles in UAV units.
Recruitment for contract service in the newly formed drone troops is currently open in Krasnodar Territory. Interested applicants can apply through local military offices or the website kontrakt23.rf. A dedicated hotline at 8 (800) 444-46-23 is also available for questions.
The Patriot Center's mission is to develop a generation skilled in drone technology and civic duty. Successful participants may enter technical colleges or join the UAV forces. The programme reflects broader efforts to integrate military-technical training into Russia's education system.
