"Rostelekom" organized a secure digital environment in the technical schools of the Altai region
Rostelecom has finished installing high-speed Wi-Fi and video surveillance in 53 technical college buildings across Altai Territory. The project covers both rural and urban campuses, including the Ust-Kalmansky Professional Education Lyceum in Ust-Kalmanka. Officials have praised the upgrade as a major step in modernising education infrastructure.
The work was completed under the federal initiative Digital Platforms in Social Sector Industries, led by Altai Territory’s Ministry of Digital Development and Communications. Rostelecom equipped 35 rural and 18 urban college buildings with wireless internet and security cameras. Upon finishing, students and staff gained access to a secure digital education platform, complete with learning resources and services.
Sergei Lavrenyuk, head of Rostelecom’s Altai branch, acknowledged the project’s challenges but confirmed its successful rollout. Yevgeny Zryumov, the region’s Minister of Digital Development and Communications, emphasised the benefits of digitisation. He noted that improved connectivity and security would enhance learning conditions and provide better access to online educational materials.
The upgrades now allow all participating colleges to use a unified digital system for teaching and administration. Faster internet and enhanced surveillance aim to create a safer, more efficient environment for students and faculty. The project aligns with broader efforts to modernise Russia’s technical education sector.
