Reuters Institute Launches Cynefin Fellowship for Welsh Journalist to Drive Change
The Reuters Institute in Oxford has launched the Cynefin Fellowship, a unique opportunity for a Welsh journalist to drive systemic change in the tech industry. The Fellowship, supported by over a dozen partners including Inclusive Journalism Cymru, offers a fully-funded term at the Institute from January to March 2026, followed by work as a Network Weaver.
The Fellow will work on a project focused on inclusive technology and/or innovation, aiming to inspire change for marginalised people and communities in the tech sector. The programme includes seminars, networking events, and projects, directly impacting Fellows' careers and the tech industry. Mitali Mukherjee, Director of the Institute, welcomes the collaboration with Inclusive Journalism Cymru, citing their complementary missions in promoting inclusive technology.
Inclusive Journalism Cymru, which joins the partnership, looks forward to Fellows challenging the status quo and delivering innovative tech solutions. The organisation, with free membership open to under-represented individuals in tech, fully funds both the Fellowship and the subsequent Network Weaver programme in the tech industry.
The Cynefin Fellowship, a joint initiative of the Reuters Institute and Inclusive Journalism Cymru, offers a Welsh journalist the chance to make a significant impact in the tech industry. The Fellowship builds on both organisations' missions to drive systemic change, fostering inclusion and innovation in technology.
