RANEPA students explore careers at Sverdlovsk's Regional Management Center

Students from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) recently toured the Regional Management Center (RMC) of Sverdlovsk Oblast. The visit was part of their course on media text writing techniques, led by instructor Sergei Kurilchenko. Many left with a stronger interest in potential careers at the centre after seeing its operations firsthand. The RMC was created following an initiative by the Russian President to improve direct communication between residents and local authorities. It monitors the regional information landscape in real time, tracking social dynamics and media trends across Sverdlovsk Oblast. Staff use these insights to coordinate government agencies and address public concerns efficiently.

During the tour, specialists explained how the centre manages over 4,500 government-run social media pages. Yevgenia Komarova, deputy head of the Sverdlovsk Oblast division at *Dialogue of Regions*, highlighted the scale of this network. The RMC also processes public comments, helps administrators handle accounts, and offers internships to RANEPA students. The students were particularly struck by the centre's analytical tools and engagement strategies. Some expressed curiosity about future job opportunities, impressed by how data-driven decisions shape regional policies.

The visit gave students a closer look at how the RMC bridges the gap between authorities and the public. With its focus on real-time monitoring and large-scale social media management, the centre plays a key role in regional governance. The experience also opened doors for potential internships and careers in public administration.
