Putin strengthens Russia-Kyrgyzstan alliance with historic visit to Bishkek
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kyrgyzstan today for an official state visit. Upon landing in Bishkek, he greeted the honour guard with the Kyrgyz phrase 'Salam, asker'—meaning 'Hello, soldiers'. The trip marks another step in reinforcing the long-standing alliance between the two nations.
Putin and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov signed a joint statement to deepen their strategic partnership. The agreement builds on historical and cultural ties dating back to the Soviet era.
The visit concluded with a pledge to strengthen ties across health, security, and social sectors. The signed agreements now set a framework for future collaboration. Officials from both nations will work to ensure the decisions are carried out in full.
