Primary School Students Explore Administration and Facilities in Mainhausen

Third-grade pupils from Käthe-Paulus School recently explored Mainhausen’s local government in a special field trip. The visit included stops at the town hall, fire station, and public works depot, giving children a firsthand look at how their community operates. Mayor Frank Simon led the tour, sharing insights into civic duties and town services.

The day began at Mainhausen Town Hall, where Mayor Frank Simon greeted the pupils. He explained the workings of local government and answered their questions about life in the community. The children then headed to the volunteer fire department, where they learned about emergency response and the roles of firefighters.

At Zellhausen Lake, staff from the municipal utility served warm drinks while discussing environmental care and public spaces. Later, the group visited the public works depot, where workers demonstrated daily tasks like road maintenance and waste collection. Mayor Simon later highlighted the importance of such visits. He noted that early exposure to civic processes helps children understand responsibility and community involvement.

The tour gave the pupils a practical lesson in local governance and public services. Through visits to key town facilities, they saw how Mainhausen functions behind the scenes. Mayor Simon’s participation reinforced the town’s commitment to engaging young residents in civic life.
