Preemptive Solution to Potential Issues

In a collaborative effort, the Neuwied Home of Youth Justice was established in April 2023, bringing together the Neuwied Police Directorate, Koblenz Public Prosecutor's Office, and Neuwied City Youth Office. Located in Neuwied, this innovative organisation aims to address young people in crisis situations and those who have committed their first offences.

The Neuwied Home of Youth Justice stands for shared responsibility, effective prevention, and concrete support in difficult life situations. Its primary goal is to open up paths out of crisis and prevent repeated offenses.

The organisation is also actively involved in prevention, ensuring that problems do not grow in the first place. As part of this commitment, the House of Youth Court Assistance Association in Neuwied has announced measures including educational programs and awareness campaigns. These initiatives aim to address issues such as school absenteeism and traffic safety risks associated with e-scooters among young people.

The strategy meeting held by the 'House of Youth Justice' Support Association saw the attendance of Mayors Peter Jung and Thorsten Runkel, along with Matthias Päsel (head of the Neuwied Police Inspectorate), Harald Schwer (deputy head of the Social Services Youth Office), and Martina Staudt (Social Services/House of Youth Justice).

The group's focus is on providing support in difficult life situations and reaching young people early on. By setting early impulses in both schools and public spaces, the Neuwied Home of Youth Justice aims to enable a life free from crime.

School refusal and safety issues in traffic, specifically e-scooters, were discussed during the meeting. The organisation's work extends beyond the courtroom, with a focus on strengthening development opportunities for young people.

The Neuwied Home of Youth Justice is more than just a response to youth offences; it's a proactive approach to addressing the needs of young people in crisis and providing them with the tools they need to make positive choices and lead fulfilling lives.
