Philippines' Young Lions Competition Opens Doors to Global Creative Talent
The Cannes Young Lions Philippines competition has opened its doors wider this year. Young professionals from media, production, digital, publishing, brand marketing, graphics, film, and other creative fields can now take part. The event aims to showcase the country's creative talent on a global stage.
Registration and payment must be completed by January 30, 2026. Participants will then receive briefing and mentoring on February 4, 2026, before submitting a 90-second case film by February 6, 2026. Winners will be announced on February 9, 2026.
Entry fees vary depending on membership status. Teams from 4As agencies pay PHP 30,000, while groups of two or more from the same 4As agency are charged PHP 25,000. Non-members must pay PHP 35,000.
This year's competition includes 32 shortlisting jurors—one from each 4As member agency. Participants will also vote for their top 10 entries. Previous Young Lions winners will join the final jury, offering guidance on local and global competition.
First-place winners will represent the Philippines at the Digital Young Lions in Cannes, France. Second-place winners will compete at the Integrated Young Spikes Asia in Singapore. Applicants must be 30 or younger by July 2026 and hold a valid passport.
The event seeks to highlight creativity as a key national resource, or 'yamang likha' (creative wealth). Organisers hope to build on the international success of Filipinos like Manny Pacquiao and Alex Eala.
The competition provides a platform for young creatives to gain recognition. Winners will advance to prestigious international events in Cannes and Singapore. The initiative also aims to strengthen the Philippine creative economy through global exposure.
