Peißenberg's VHS Welcomes a Dynamic New Leader with Bold Plans

A new leader has taken charge at Peißenberg's adult education centre (Volkshochschule, VHS). The role brings together her varied career—from teaching languages to working in industry. Now, she aims to refresh the VHS with fresh ideas and a hands-on approach.

Her connection to the centre runs deep: she once taught Italian there herself. After years in business and education, she returns with plans to make the VHS more dynamic and visible in the community.

Born in Milan, she first arrived in Peiting in the early 1990s. The Bavarian dialect proved tricky at first, but she soon found her footing—thanks in part to the local VHS. Over time, she built a career blending education and business.

She began by teaching Italian at the VHS while running her own small language school. Later, she worked as a freelance translator. In 2004, she took a longer break to raise twins before shifting into industry. There, she earned qualifications as a certified business economist and a master's degree, eventually working in sales for a plastics manufacturer. Her interests stretch beyond work. A lover of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, she also enjoys travelling, particularly to Sicily. But her professional focus remains sharp. She describes herself as committed, full of energy, and someone who thrives on challenges. Now, she wants to put that drive into action. Her plans include analysing the VHS programmes closely and discussing them regularly with her team. The goal is to adapt and reinvent what the centre offers. She also intends to recruit university students as instructors, bringing in new perspectives. The role excites her because it ties together threads from her past—education, business, and community engagement. She sees it as a chance to shape something meaningful for Peißenberg.

The VHS now has a leader with a mix of teaching, business, and personal experience. Her first steps involve reviewing courses and involving her team in shaping the future. By bringing in younger instructors and raising the centre's profile, she hopes to make the VHS a more active part of local life. The changes will build on her own history with the institution—both as a teacher and a learner.
