Park University Announces Dr. Paul Orscheln as New Vice President for Admissions and Student Affairs
Dr. Paul Orscheln, a seasoned higher education professional with over two decades of experience in student success and enrollment, has been appointed as the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services at Park University, effective March 3, 2025.
Orscheln's career in higher education has been marked by leadership roles focused on student success, enrollment strategies, and institutional effectiveness. His extensive experience spans across various institutions, including Missouri Western State University, Colorado State University - Pueblo, Northern Kentucky University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Central Missouri, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
Orscheln's athletic achievements at Central Missouri State University, now the University of Central Missouri, took place between the years 1993 and 1995. He was a two-time NCAA Division II men's track and field All-American in the 3000-meter steeplechase (1994-95). Orscheln was also a member of the 1993 Central Missouri State University men's cross country team that tied for fifth in the D-2 national championship meet and was inducted into CMSU's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. To this day, Orscheln still ranks ninth in school history in the 3000-meter steeplechase event.
In his new role at Park University, Orscheln will be responsible for directing recruitment efforts, working on overarching University policies, and addressing issues of access, affordability, college readiness, and student success. His department includes enrollment and student services, international student admissions and services, student financial services, marketing, campus center operations, and athletics. Orscheln will also work closely with colleagues on institutional financial strategy and the student educational cycle from enrollment through graduation.
Prior to joining Park University, Orscheln served as Vice President of Enrollment Services and Student Affairs at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., since October 2019. He also holds a Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
